Velika Gorica got its first e-charging station for e-vehicles. There are to be five of them in the city, and using them during the first two years will be completely free of charge for citizens, which means that Velika Gorica is the second city in the Zagreb County, after Samobor, which enables its citizens with electro vehicles to charge their cars free of charge. The stations are to be strategically spread out, next to VG Goričanka, at Trg Stjepana Radića, next to the substation by the heating plant, next to the Open University in the parking lot in Kolareva Street, in the southern part of the parking lot by the Fire Station and next to the Farmer’s market. The stations were procured within the project of the City, VG Komunalac and Development VE-GO-RA, worth HRK 450.000.
The project aims for Velika Gorica to promote the importance of caring for the environment and reiterate its status of an “eco-city” which opens important opportunities for developing tourism in this part of Croatia, as Velika Gorica might become a useful side-destination to numerous visitors and drivers of e-vehicles.
