On June 10, an e-bicycle terminal was opened in Koprivnica, at the city’s Campus, which is set as a zero greenhouse gas emission zone. The terminal was opened by the Mayor of the city, Vesna Želježnjak, who emphasized: The public will surely be thrilled. It is truly a remarkable bicycle, you don’t need to work hard, it moves on its own.
The terminal contains 10 e-bicycles, and the e-bicycle system will be completely integrated within the BicKo system, the already existing public bicycle system in Koprivnica. Users will be able to use the system with their RFID cards, but those will be different from the BicKo system, in order to monitor the use of e-bicycles. That is necessary in order for Kampus d.o.o, as an official manager of the system, to be able to evaluate the effects and compare them with other cities included in the project. We have entered another project which will enable us to acquire another twenty e-bicycles next year and in 2017 – said the director of Kampus d.o.o. Igor Bajalica.
E-bicycles were introduced in scope of CIVITAS DYN@MO project, the largest and most demanding project in which the City participates. The goal of the project is to develop a sustainable and energy efficient urban mobility with the emphasis on electromobility. The project is also implemented by three more cities: Aachen, Palma de Mallorca and Gdynia. Kampus d.o.o. is a partner within the project and its total budget amounts to €136,320.00. The highest proportion of the expenses is allocated towards the setup of the e-bike system which must be fully operational by the end of 2016. The purchasing price of the bikes amounts to HRK 380,000.00.
