Presentation of the CIVINET network in the European Parliament was organized on April 13, coordination with the British MP Mr. Keith Taylor and with the support of the European Commission.

The purpose of this event was to show the role of national and international network of cities and other stakeholders in the urban mobility with the aim of fulfilling goals of the Europe 2020 strategy but also to gain support of the European Parliament in further spreading of this most numerous and most vital group within the CIVITAS initiative.

Apart from Keith Taylor, speakers on the importance of urban mobility measure for the climate improvements, reduction of pollution and influence of climate changes included Ms. Danijela Rosca, manager of Clean Transport Unit in the Mobility and Transport Board and Ms. Karima Delli, member of the European Parliament and reporter on urban mobility within the Transport and Tourism Board.

Marie Launey also spoke about the CIVINET network, while members of the Political advisory board of the CIVITAS Initiative Ian Davey CIVINET Great Britain – Ireland and Helena Hećimović, CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia presented the perspectives of cities within the network.

The event brought together 11 CIVINET networks from 14 countries of the European Union. CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia was especially emphasized as an example of successful inclusion of cities and other stakeholders from the wider region. CIVINET Network Slovenia-Croatia was represented by Vlado Babič, coordinator, Lidija Pavić Rogošić, representative of the Croatian administration and Helena Hećimović from the City of Koprivnica.
